The visiting team from Westlake toured Palo Alto and Gunn High Schools. The weather was wet, with rain and cool temperatures. Both schools have multiple buildings (constructed much like Eanes Elementary). The teachers and administrators welcomed us warmly and were generous with time and information. We saw robotics, a new library, a science building with lab preparation space outside of the classroom. They even pay someone to prepare the labs. Both schools had interesting schedules, not traditional ones we’re used to, AND both schools had brunch and lunch daliy. An additional highlight of the day was visiting Stanford and seeing the beautiful and rich campus. We shopped at the bookstore and enjoyed browsing among the highbrows. We feel smarter for being there.

    Signing off for Monday …
